I look to the tree line
and see a pale grey cloud
being crushed by a dark grey cloud
holding back the chilling
white light of a Winter sky which threatens
to pierce my bones
should I not scurry from its sight
fast enough

Looking through some old papers, I found this little poem that I wrote about 10 years ago -- Winter seems still to hold its sacred and threatening power
There you are!
ReplyDeletelovely.
ReplyDeleteSJ - Yes, here I am. And I'm glad you are too.
ReplyDeleteMarco - Thanks for reading. I wrote this many years ago and I can still remember that sky as if I was looking at it right now.
Hello there! Nice to see your post! I love your poem, and wanted to say that winter skies make me want to scurry away too. Wishing you sunshine and warm slants of light :)
ReplyDeleteThis makes me remember how grateful I am to live in a place that doesn't really have winter the way other places have winter. I don't know if my spirit would make it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are well.
Hi Mel!! I'm so surprised that you still read me - but oh so pleased!
ReplyDeleteSome very complicated things this past few months, but hopefully I am back to post and to read YOU.
Thanks so much for the comment.
Steph(anie) - You too, how wonderful that you are still there and watch for me. I've been so out of things that I haven't read anyone's blog for months and months - I'll look for yours and hope that you are writing too! Thanks for the comment, hope all is well with you too!
Happy Christmas Dear |Liv, and I so enjoyed the quiet stillness of that poem, you are so clever with words and with collages, want to see more of you this coming year, hope you manage to blog some more so I can add more comments ha ha... Happy New Year to you and yours too*** janzi
ReplyDeleteWill you ever be back here, writing? I wish!
ReplyDeleteOh, sweet Jesus! You paid me a visit, thank you.
ReplyDeleteEvery day I think of writing and then every day I do something else.
Yes, I will be back - soon I hope - especially if you read me.
